Comment::
The present Government. A "head office" response only. Disappointing indeed. Compare with our Manifesto on funding issues and Tolls. Fundamental differences continue. Unsatisfactory.

Christian Democrats
Christian Democrats Policy pages

Comment:
Frankly, nothing in their policies of specific importance to a rider
However, proven action in the Upper House to support motorcycle issues and injustices and reversal and blocking of stupid laws. See table below for individual Candidates responses.

National Party /Liberal Party Coalition
--------click on their response in box on right------->>

Comment:
Very good start indeed. Hints strongly at problems obtaining information from present government to establish clear positions. Positive comments indicating a good grasp of the issues. The Nationals have good reasonable record of supporting motorcycle issues in Parliament, particularly the Upper House.

Greens
Greens Policy pages
Comment:
It is clear from their actions in Parliament that the Greens support motorcycles as a low emission, low impact and environmentally sustainable form of transport. There is no mention of the word "motorcycle" in their policy documents, nor any mention of addressing the specific issues requested

Individually, some Greens Candidates did respond, see below.

Democrats
Democrats Motorcycle Policy

Comment:
This is much more like what is wanted! The only party with a specific Motorcycle Policy. It's very good, worth reading and digesting. The Democrats have a long history of commonsense and logical dealing with inequities. Motorcycles are affected by a large number of these that have been specifically addressed. Full marks!

Northern TablelandsPhillip KellyNationals53555 I understand the issues facing NSW motorcyclists. I stand on a platform of commonsense and logic and will take this approach to expanding dialogue with MCC and addressing the issues raised. I will take action on agreed outcomes, not just talk about the issues.

BathurstSebria LawrenceGreens53555I think that motorcycles are a very green alternative to cars do less damage to roads, use less fuel, use less energy and resources in their manufacture and therefore should be encouraged, Motorcycles should not have to pay tolls, there should be specific parking for bikes. The Greens are very passionate about public transport, but Motorcycles are a great alternative when public transport isn't available.

North ShoreJan de VoigtAustralian Democrats33555 I do not plan to own a car due to their impact on climate change and the polution thye cause. The Australian Democrats have supported motorcylcist for many years and will continue to support the motorcycle community.
Legislative CouncilCarolyn HastieAustralian Democrats53555 I love motorcycles and rode one for years. They are very environmentally friendly, ethically sound form of transport - not to mention the joy in actually riding! It was an eye opener looking at your website. You have done a brilliant job promoting safety awareness. I knew motorcyclists are a responsible group of people. Your site is testimony to this reality. Congratulations

Blue MountainsBob WilcoxOutdoor Recreation Pparty53555 Motorcycles are an essential part of recreational activities and we are closely aligned with the DSMRA in NSW. We believe that many people could be encouraged to ride motorcycles. Governments have offered no safety or financial incentives for people to do so. Basically we are treated as if we don't exist (yes Dr Jon Jenkins our ex MP is a bike rider!).

Baulkham HillsMark RodowiczGreens23555The Greens transport policy strongly advocates for increased and improved public transport. If our policy were implemented, there would be significant reduction in traffic making travel for all motorcycle riders quicker and also healthier because of reduced air pollution. Also with The Greens emphasis on freight being transported by rail rather than road, there would be significantly less trucks on the roads making them safer for motor cycle riders and all motorists
EppingLindsay PetersGreens43555I'm an occasional motorcyclist myself, so am very sympathetic to the need for parking and making it easy to pay tolls. It's clear that motorcycles are far more environmentally friendly than the vast majority of cars which only have one occupant
Legislative CouncilLyn ShumackDemocrats43555Since I used to ride a Honda 500 I have first hand experience as a motorcyclists - Having been a rider for many years. Lobbying Motorcycle Awarenss Week funding and having exhaust labelling laws overturned & bus lane infringement fines overturned for Harbour Bridge travel. Motorcycle safety inquiry is overdue.
BegaWilma ChinnockLabor43555I have been riding motorcycles for over 30 years, also my husband and son. I have first hand knowledge & experience of what it is like to ride a motorcycle in NSW. Here's your opportunity to vote for someone who knows what you are talking about, will listen and actively work for you.
Northern TablelandsIsabel StruttChristian Democrat Party43445Every elected representative has a conscience vote on every issue. I accept the responsibility to consider ALL road users in assessing and/or proposing legislation, and believe that integrated, long-term, strategic planning should be applied to all facets of transport and road planning.
Legislative CouncilNell BrownGroup A43434 GROUP 'A' are a group of INDEPENDENTS who are ordinary people, excepting that we have the added responsibility of care for a family member. By accident of life or birth, chronic illness, or just simply frail age, you like us are likely to become responsible for the care of another person and you will need timely supports in place. Our groups election agenda is to remind government that families matter, a fact that most seem to have forgotten
